Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are substances that are injected just below the surface of the skin to fill in lines, wrinkles, and scars. Unlike face lifts that stretch the skin, fillers add volume for a more natural youthful appearance. Fillers can also increase the fullness of the lips (see section on lip enhancement) and lessen the downward slant of the corner of lips. The most common areas treated are the smile lines around the nose and mouth, fine lines above the mouth, frown lines between the eyes, and acne scars.

Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is the most natural, non-invasive skin resurfacing process available. It is a gentle, safe and effective skin rejuvenation therapy. The topmost epidermal layer is removed by gently abrading the skin while at the same time dead skin cells are vacuumed away in a sterile and controlled manner.
Microdermabrasion minimizes the appearance of common cosmetics ailments such as sun damaged skin, fine lines, acne and trauma scars, age spots, aging hands, dull skin, oily skin and hyper-pigmentation.

How does AFT pulsed light technology work?
AFT's selective pulsed light energy is precisely absorbed by the target areas, without damaging healthy skin. Selectively heating and closing off blood vessels, AFT pulsed light reduces the lesions, while sparing nearby tissue from injury. With pigmented lesions, the light energy heats the melanin in the lesion and causes it to fragment. The melanin fragments are then absorbed by the body and eliminated. By providing smooth, consistent light pulses, the energy delivered to the skin is gentle and effective.

What to expect?
Patients must consult with a physician to determine their course of treatment. Physicians set treatment plans according to the characteristics, such as size and location, of each patients lesions. Most lesions can be treated within half an hour, and for best results, repeated treatments are required. Before treatment, a cold gel is usually applied to the area to be treated. Then, the physician delivers precise pulses of light to the target area. Patients report little or no pain with AFT treatment, and can return to their normal activities immediately.

Is it safe?
AFT's high levels of light and gentle energy parameters assure safe, effective treatment. Uniquely shaped AFT pulses precisely heat their intended targets, causing remarkably little or no skin damage or discomfort. This optimal use of energy both increases safety and eliminates the need for cooling methods. Clinical trials conducted by leading authorities on pulsed light document its safety and effectiveness.

How does the Nd:YAG laser work?
Laser light penetrates the skin, raising the temperature of the blood vessel and safely coagulating it. Treated veins gradually shrink and become less visible or disappear altogether. The laser allows for customized treatment of veins, including some of those that do not respond to other treatments.

What to expect?
Treatment may vary from 15-20 minutes. Multiple sessions spanning several months may be necessary, but the exact number of treatments depends on the size of the vein and your blood's ability to heal. During your consultation, you will receive an estimate of the number of treatments required to obtain optimal results. No special pre- or post- treatment care is required, but patients are advised to limit sun exposure and use sunscreen for several weeks before and after treatment.

What type of veins can be treated with laser?
A variety of leg veins, ranging from the most superficial to deeper blood vessels respond well to laser therapy. Candidates for this therapy include 'spider veins', very small veins caused by a dilation of the minute vessels that sit near the skin's surface, and reticular veins, the small, bluish colored veins that carry blood to the skin's tiny vessels.
The laser caused no actual damage to the overlying skin. However, temporary bruising and darkening of the skin may result, and will disappear in several days or weeks. Fading is generally excellent, but it may take several months to see final results.
